A new meaning to "Grocery Shopping"

Before I got married I remember how much fun I thought grocery shopping would be. I could picture Corey and I going to the grocery store planning out all of our meals and then going home putting them up and cooking dinner! It was such a happy picture, and then we got married and the first couple of months were fun! We would make our list before we left and would usually go every Saturday. We went up and down the isles making sure we got everything we needed, then just as I had pictured it we went back to our small one bedroom apartment put them all away and then usually had a special dinner. What a fun memory- of course after the first few months it wasn't as much fun, and then we had children. I love my children dearly and it was not too bad grocery shopping with just Kirbee when she was little and didn't know any different than to just sit back and enjoy the ride. However as she got older it kept getting harder because she is a child who wants to be busy ALL THE TIME. But when she finally realized that our local grocery store had a car that she could, drive she was pretty excited! Every time we would pass the grocery store she would want to go and "drive mommy, drive". That lasted maybe a month, and then she discovered she could get out of the car when it stopped. That put a new meaning to going to the store instead of it taking 20 minutes, it now took mommy 40 minutes plus I better have my running shoes on! The next thing you know we have another beautiful baby girl Saydee. She is now at the age where she does not know any different than to sit back and enjoy the ride. She is getting close to just getting to sit in the basket but we are not there yet. Going to the grocery store by yourself with one child is a challenge but taking two is even a bigger challenge. We had to tackle the store this afternoon and man was it fun. The problem with the "car baskets" is that the basket where the groceries go is smaller than a regular basket and then the top basket where I could put Saydee's car seat leans back to far. So by the time you have the car seat in the basket there is NO room for groceries. Today Saydee was surrounded by groceries-not that she minded- but I was just thankful none of them fell on her head or Kirbee didn't throw any on top of her. Kirbee did not have a whole lot of fun today- she didn't want to drive, she wanted to walk without her shoes. So needless to say by the time we left the store mommy was carrying Kirbee in one hand and pushing the huge car basket with the other- and most of you have probably experienced that those do not turn so well. But we made it out and safely home and that is all that matters- right?

I can just picture all of this in my head! I am sorry it was so hard, but know that you will laugh about it one day. Remember, we're gonna miss this!
